Annual Reunion and Scholarship Dinner

On Thursday, June 11th the Chicago Illini Club will hold it's Annual Reunion and Scholarship Dinner at the Parthenon Restaurant located at 314 S. Halsted St in Chicago's Greektown. We do this every year and try to gather all past officers, board members, and recipients of the CIC and UIAA Chicago Illini of the Year awards as well as all alumni, spouses, significant others and friends. The second purpose of the dinner is to raise funds to support the scholarships the Club sponsors to the University. This year's speaker will be Tony Clements, the long time and recently retired director of the ARC and a former Illini football player. As many of you may know, Tony has had a secondary career as a stand up comedian in the U/C area. If you've never heard Tony, you have a real treat in store.

We will dine on a Greek family style dinner, including wine, starting with appetizers consisting of saganaki, taramosalata, and gyros followed by Greek salad. We will then have four entrees of moussaka, pastitsio, dolmades, and roast pork followed by desserts of baklava, galaktobouriko and coffee.           

There will be a social hour, with a cash bar, starting at 5:30 pm with dinner at 6:30 followed by the program. The Parthenon has free valet parking, just pull up to the front door and they'll take it from there. Please note that space is limited so get your reservation in early. in adition to online tickets, you may make your reservations by sending a check made out to the Chicago Illini Club to John Menees at 3617 Ionia Avenue, Olympia Fields, IL 60461-1316.
